Dr. Islam joined AUD as a full time faculty member in September 2016, where she had been working as an Adjunct since 2011. Prior to joining at AUD, she was an Assistant Professor at the Department of Biochemistry and Microbiology, School of Health and Life Sciences, North South University in Dhaka, Bangladesh. She was also a visiting Assistant Professor at the Canadian University of Dubai, School of Public Health and Health Sciences. Her Ph.D. research was focused on the relation of diet in terms of reducing the risk of cancer. She has also worked in the area of Microbiology and Molecular Biology. She has published research in the area of colorectal cancer and obesity. In her spare time, Dr. Islam loves spending time with her family, cooking and travelling.
