Aicha Rochdi is an assistant professor at Zayed University. She was awarded a Fulbright scholarship to complete her PhD degree at the University of Iowa in Speech Pathology and Audiology. Aicha Rochdi has an EFL qualification as a teacher of English to adult and young learners and prior to joining Zayed University, she taught EFL in Morocco for 5 years. Dr. Rochdi’s primary research area relates to the cognitive development of reading among various populations including normally developing learners, monolingual and bilingual learners, learners in diglossic contexts and among learners who have language impairments. Presently, Dr. Rochdi teaches in the UAE. Some of the courses she has been responsible for are English Language, Media Storytelling, Communicative Competence, and Child Observation and Assessment.
Dr. Rochdi is also interested in examining the impact of Mobile devices on learning inside and outside the classroom and in exploring the cognitive processes that underlie learning using mobile devices with multiple modalities.
