Dr Afele is an international consultant with over 20 years in consulting in the agricultural sector , capacity building, institutional development, policy and strategy development, fragile states policy and operations, project concepts and prepar ation/appraisal for multilateral development finance institutions, African Diaspora in nation building, knowledge generation and management and partnership building. Working experience also spans across diverse areas. Dr Afele has worked for several Intern ational organizations like the World Bank for 5 years and African Development Bank for 4 years. In 2004, he led the design and delivery of technical assistance and capacity building to support Nigeria’s National Fadama (II) Development Program and its bene ficiary groups financed with a facility of $120 million from the World Bank - African Development. As a result, the project disbursed to agricultural groups in 18 States, which led to increased production, improvement in management of wetland resources, and consensus among competing resource user groups such as nomadic cattle herders and crop farmers. He also led a World Bank team in 2007 to prepare the World Bank Institute’s response to the 2007 Independent Evaluation Group’s Report on the World Bank’s agri cultural sector operations in Africa (1997 - 2007). Post - doctoral activities (development studies, 1997 - 2002) i nclude: Participated in several learning programs including the Global Knowledge Partnership (GKP) and Global Knowledge for Development (GKD) organ ized by the development institutions to make career transition to development studies.
