Biography

Scott graduated as a Registered Massage Therapist from Canadian Therapeutic College in 2002. Over the past 12 years Scott has worked in a number of sports clinics, spa settings and rehabilitation centres. This variety in settings and experiences has allowed Scott to create a massage style that has helped him become one of the most sought after therapists in the Niagara Region. Scott started his career working in an advanced care and rehab facility where treatment focused solely on regaining function from injury. Treatment sessions related to car accidents, sports related injuries, repetitive strain disorders and chronic tension were often long and intense in nature. Techniques used were deep and aggressive and focused strictly on releasing tension associated with the natural guarding responses of the body. Although Scott found this “old school” approach to be effective, he felt there must be a better, more efficient way to address these conditions. Scott decided to take the knowledge he had gained at the rehab clinic and bring it to one of the top spas in Ontario. Here he learned the art of conscious, full body and zone specific, relaxation. By combining deep breathing and visualization techniques with deep tissue treatments, Scott experienced that clients could have a major impact on releasing their muscle tension. This combination allows muscles to relax on their own versus forcing them to relax through painful, aggressive techniques. Scott found his unique style of treatment to be immensely effective, yielding some of the best results he’s seen in over a decade in practice. This technique can be applied to clients of virtually any age or physical condition and obtain results quickly. Scott believes that during his sessions he is working with his clients vs on his clients, and together they can maximize positive results from each treatment.
