"Sarah Campbell initially trained as a registered mental health nurse and specialised in Child & Adolescent Mental Health Service working and gaining further clinical professional training within the NHS for over two decades. Sarah Campbell initially trained as a registered mental health nurse and specialised in Child & Adolescent Mental Health Service working and gaining further clinical professional training within the NHS for over two decades. She came to City University London in 2004 to develop and teach child & adolescent mental health education to under graduate and post graduate students as well as contribute to teaching mental health nursing students. Now as a Senior Lecturer she is Programme Director for the MSc in Advanced Practice in Health and Social Care: Child and Adolescent Mental Health. Sarah's clinical training as a Psychoanalytic Psychotherapist supports her academic and research work particularly promoting 'relationship centred care'. As chief investigator Sarah's recent research was successful in securing external funding. The research focuses on an enquiry into the provision of mental health services and its relationship to young people and their offending behaviour. This published research formed the basis of a policy document presented to the House of Lords in December 2013. Sarah maintains clinical contact and works closely with local Authorities and Health Care Trusts. She was invited to develop and now leads on child protection supervision for clinical team management. In addition Sarah has been instrumental in introducing and leading the Personal Professional Development Group initiative which is a core activity for all mental Health Nursing students at City University London. This activity has won awards within the university and has been highly commended by the Nursing and Midwifery Council. Her current research interests surrounds these areas."
