Biography

 Queen Street Physiotherapy Practice Manager Rachel first completed her Bachelor in Human Biology at the University of Canberra. After moving to Brisbane, she then went on to complete a Masters of Physiotherapy Studies from the University of Queensland. She now has over 7 years’ experience as a musculoskeletal practitioner. Her passion and success in running has guided her studies and given Rachel a unique insight into treating sporting injuries. She undertook further study to extend her ability in running biomechanical assessments, in addition to further study in thorax treatment, sports pelvis and hip injuries. She is ardent in continuing to build her knowledge, skills and repertoire as a high standard physiotherapist. From a young age Rachel always enjoyed sports, competing at a national level for sprinting, a state level for Basketball and a regional level for netball. To stay fit Rachel still enjoys the occasional 10km charity fun run and always finishes with amazing results. She also continues to play competitive basketball. As an athlete herself Rachel understands the burden of injury at all sporting levels, novice and elite, and the drive for a prompt recovery. She believes evaluating running technique and strength can allow for accurate exercise programs and has a focus on physical management which aids her in providing effective long term injury management. In addition to sports Rachel has a strong interest in musculoskeletal physiotherapy and chronic pain rehabilitation. She treats muscular and joint problems with a hands on approach, and has a special focus on neck, lower back and knee pain. She is also experienced in treating patients suffering from vertigo to reduce symptoms of dizziness, in addition to dry needling treatment. Rachel’s passion is to work with patients from all walks of life to reduce and prevent pain.
