Biography

 Leighton holds a Bachelor of Athletic & Exercise Therapy Degree from Camosun College in Victoria, BC. After his degree he certified as a Strength & Conditioning Specialist: NSCA-CSCS and then as a Certified Athletic Therapist: CAT(C). He has also received his certification in Soft Tissue Release, treating low back, hip, neck, shoulder and extremities. In BC, Leighton worked with the Jr.B Peninsula Panthers Hockey club as well as treating athletes, the general population and pre and post-operation clients in a clinical setting.   Leighton grew up playing soccer, rugby, volleyball, basketball, track & field but mostly baseball, in which he found his passion in, then was selected to play for Team BC (2008) as well as for the Okanagan College Coyotes. He believes that pain free physical activity and movement are crucial for success in sport, work and everyday life. His knowledge in athletic therapy, sports and the workforce as well as commitment to others helps construct creative individualized rehabilitation programs to minimize time away and maximize performance.
