Dr Tullus got his basic medical training at the Karolinska Institute, Stockholm, Sweden where he also did his PhD thesis. He got his training as paediatrician and paediatric nephrologist in Stockholm Sweden where he then worked as a consultant until 2002 when he moved to GOSH. He is a member of the following professional bodies: European Society for Paediatric Nephrology (ESPN) International Paediatric Nephrology Association (IPNA) American Society for Nephrology (ASN) British Society for Paediatric Nephrology (BAPN) The Renal Association European Society for Paediatric Infectious Diseases (ESPID) European Society of Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases (ESCMID)  Swedish Society for Physicians Swedish Society for Paediatricians Swedish Society for Paediatric Nephrology Swedish Society for Nephrology  

 His main research interests are inflammatory kidney diseases including lupus, hypertension (high blood pressure) including renovascular hypertension (high blood pressure caused by narrowing of the renal arteries). He has done studies on a number of other kidney diseases.
