Dr. Mixon received his undergraduate degree and attended Medical School at Tulane University in Louisiana. His internship, residency and fellowship were completed at Emory University Hospitals in Georgia. He has special interests in Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis. Dr. Mixon joined the group in 1991. He is board certified in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology by the American Board of Internal Medicine. Affiliations include the American College of Gastroenterology, the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of America and the North Carolina Society of Gastroenterology.
