Biography

I am so delighted to be joining the Back on Track team at Carleton Place to offer chiropractic services. What attracted me the most to chiropractic is its comprehensive, hands-on approach to assessment and treatment. I have a passion for health and fitness and am thrilled every day when I have the opportunity to promote health to others. More and more, Canadians are taking a proactive role in their own health and I believe evidence-based manual therapy should be an integral component of their care. l attended the University of Western Ontario to complete my Bachelor of Health Science degree and then entered the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College in 2004 in Toronto. Many do not realize that a Doctor of Chiropractic has spent four years at an accredited chiropractic institution, receiving more than 4,200 hours of specialized clinical training. The chiropractic curriculum at CMCC, includes studies in anatomy, radiology, pathology, biomechanics, chiropractic principles, diagnosis and adjustment techniques. In particular, chiropractors receive training in radiology that covers a range of topics from radiation biophysics and protection to clinical X-ray interpretation and diagnosis. Radiology training consists of more than 360 contact hours followed by application during clinical internship. As primary care practitioners, we develop and carry out a comprehensive treatment / management plan, recommend therapeutic exercise and other non-invasive therapies, and provide nutritional, dietary and lifestyle counselling.
