Biography

 Alex Van Vaerenberg, RMT is a compassionate and knowledgeable therapist who specializes in sports injuries, deep tissue massage, myofascial work, trigger point therapy and joint mobilizations. Graduating from Algonquin College, Alex believes in a holistic approach centered around client education coupled with massage treatment and remedial exercise to effectively correct postural imbalances that cause pain in the body, whether from injury or lifestyle. Alex helps his clients achieve their wellness and lifestyle goals by using a client centered approach, working with the client to change everyday postural habits and promote a healthier lifestyle to ensure long term relief of the clients’ complaints. Alex has been involved with athletics his whole life playing multiple sports at a competitive level since a child. In high school he was champion of Eastern Ontario in badminton and placed 3rd in Ontario for pole vault. He continued on to play football in NCAFA winning Offensive MVP in 2007 and then playing in the CJFL for the Ottawa Sooners winning a championship in 2009. After suffering a complete tear of his ACL and meniscus, Alex quit football to pursue massage therapy so he could help others overcome the mental, physical and spiritual struggle of rehabilitation.
