Yu-Chan Chao has received his PhD from University of Arkansas and Post-doctoral training at the Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory and Cornell University. He previously served as the Dean of the College of Life Science, National Chung-Hsing University and as Deputy Director at the Institute of Molecular Biology, Academia Sinica, and he is currently a Professor at this latter institute. He has received three Distinguished Research Awards from the Ministry of Science and Technology, Taiwan and was elected as a Distinguished Research Fellow. He has published more than 70 papers and serves as an Editor for several highly regarded international journals.
