Dr Jhala, after completing MB BS in 1986, started training as a resident Obstetrician & Gynaecologist at the B.J.Medical College & the new Civil Hospital, Ahmedabad, in 1987 for three years. Dr Jhala received his M.D. (Indian Postgraduate degree) in Obstetrics & Gynaecology in 1990. He then went & worked in UK from 1991-1996, where he worked in the following NHS hospitals in the capacity of SHO, Registrar & lastly as Senior Registrar in Obstetrics & Gynaecology. Derby City General Hospital, Derby, Midlands Basildon General Hospital, Basildon, Essex The Royal London Hospital, London The Royal Bournemouth Hospital, Bournemouth During that period he gained very valuable experience in general obstetrics & Gynaecology, which exposed him to a wide spectrum of complicated cases. He gained considerable experience in management of high-risk pregnancy & endoscopic surgery. He also obtained basic & advanced ultrasound training in fetal medicine at the King’s College, London with the pioneers like Professor Stuart Campbell & Professor Kypros Nicolaides.
