Dr. King earned a PhD in Epidemiology in 2003 from the University of Pittsburgh, winning the Best Dissertation Award. As a co-investigator of the NIH-funded Longitudinal Assessment of Bariatric Surgery, a multi-center prospective observational study, Dr. Wendy King leads the physical activity work group. She is also the director for data management and analysis of two NIH-funded multi-center research projects, and a co-investigator of two additional NIH-funded weight loss studies. In 2011, Dr. King gave talks on physical activity and bariatric surgery at annual conferences of ACSM and ASMBS, and co-authored a book chapter in the same area, published by Routledge. She serves as an editorial board member of Surgery for Obesity and Related Diseases.
