Biography

  Graduated in Medicine (1981) with extraordinary prize of licentiate and Doctor (1986) with extraordinary prize by the University of Navarre. Specialist in Orthopedic Surgery and Traumatology at the University of Navarra Clinic (1986). He completed his training in peripheral nerve microsurgery with Professor Morelli in Milan, in reconstructive surgery in hand with Professor Tubiana in Paris, in arthroscopic surgery and upper limb traumatology with Professor Wallace in Nottingham, and in reconstructive surgery of the upper limb at the Mayo Clinic in the United States. He has been a consultant since 1992 in the Department of Orthopedic Surgery and Traumatology at the  University of Navarra with a focus on hand surgery, reconstructive surgery of the upper extremity, peripheral nerve microsurgery and arthroscopy of the shoulder, elbow and wrist and responsible of the reimplantation unit. It has involved more than 10,000 patients.

 Currently, his area of ​​research focuses on the following points: Reconstruction of peripheral nerve injuries. Results of carpal tunnel surgery. Prevention of the appearance of tendon calcifications. Surgery of the hand. Reconstructive surgery of the upper limb. Peripheral nerve microsurgery and general orthopedics
