For Dr. Roya Afshar-Mohajer, dentistry runs in the family. Her father is a dentist as well, and she grew up enjoying watching him and assisting him with procedures. Dentistry was always interesting to Dr. Mohajer and she liked the thought of being a healthcare provider. Ultimately, she chose the field of periodontics and, to this day, feels lucky to have a profession which allows her to help others. She finds that a lot of patients have a phobia when it comes to dentistry and always tries to help them get past their fears by explaining procedures to them calmly, as well as helping them develop coping mechanisms. She enjoys interacting with patients and educating them about their oral health so that together we can achieve a successful treatment outcome.
