Biography

Rana started working at the University of Huddersfield in February 2016, and is currently a Lecturer in Phonetics and Phonology. Rana completed her BA in English Language and Literature in 2004 at Alhussein Bin Talal University in Jordan. In 2007, she came to the UK to pursue her MA and PhD study at the University of York with a main focus on Arabic phonetics and phonology. Between 2011-2015, Rana has worked as a researcher on an ESRC funded research project (Intonational Variation in Arabic) at the University of York with Dr Sam Hellmuth. Rana has published and presented internationally; mainly in Arabic phonetics and phonology, as well as in second language acquisition.

Research Intrest

Her main interest is exploring the phonetics and phonology of dialectal Arabic.
