Born in traditional Ayurveda family (1946), son of Kaviraj L. G. Debnath. Schooling 1961, Ayurveda graduation 1966 , J.B. Roy State Ayurveda College, M D (Ay) Kayachikitsa BHU working on Therapeutic uses of Cobra venom to provide evidence to his family practice, Ph.D in 1977 on “Role of Serotonin on gastric activity in relation to Amlapitta” ,Dept of Pharmacology, IMS, BHU. He is a fellow of R.A.V and Indian Pharmacological Society. Recipient of “Uvnas Prize”, elected President Indian Science Congress in 2002. Retired,Prof Kayachikitsa, Head Panchakarma and Clinical Research (2006) presently, Director. Produced many MDs,Ph.D, M.Tec, M.Vsc, 180 plus publication.
