Biography

Dr. Perez-Reyes is the Director of Cytopathology at CellNetix Pathology & Laboratories and Medical Director of Anatomic Pathology at Swedish Issaquah Medical Center.   She attended medical school at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio, graduating Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. She did her Anatomic Pathology residency at the University of Washington Medical Center where she was the National Chair of the Resident Physician Section of the American Society of Clinical Pathologists. She is board certified in Anatomic Pathology and Cytopathology. She was fellowship trained in Cytopathology at the University of Rochester Medical Center, Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, New York. She has been Assistant Director of Cytopathology at SUNY in Syracuse, New York, and Director of the Cytopathology Fellowship Program at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, Michigan. From 1999-2010, she rotated being Director of Cytopathology at CellNetix and at Swedish Medical Center. She currently is the Supervisor of the Cytopathology Fellow from the University of Washington Medical Center when rotating at CellNetix.   Dr. Perez-Reyes has extensive experience as a lecturer for cytopathology and fine needle aspiration teaching conferences. She has given several Grand Rounds and regional conferences on new technologies in Pap tests including liquid-based Pap tests, HPV testing, and the Bethesda System for Pap test reporting. Dr. Perez-Reyes has published a wide range of topics relating to research activities including cervical human papillomaviruses, immortalization of human smooth muscle cells, breast fine needle aspirations, and Pap tests. Dr. Perez-Reyes joined the pathology group in 1999.   She was named in the Seattle Metropolitan magazine’s Top Doctors issue in 2012, as a Top Pathologist by the International Association of Healthcare Professionals, and received a rating of superb (10 out of 10) by Avvo National Rating.
