It has several patents of biological processes using microalgae. He has assumed responsibilities in various institutions, including the Director of the "Isla de la Cartuja" Research Center. He has directed or co-directed 14 doctoral theses. He has been a speaker at more than 100 international conferences and conferences, with more than 20 projects funded. He has written about 30 book chapters and more than 100 articles on microalgae in scientific journals.It has been decorated twice by the Government of Spain.
