Mey-Mey Benamar has worked as a Theatre Nurse and Patient Service Consultant for more than 23 years in both Africa and Europe. She was involved in the development and evaluation of different strategies related to the improvement of communication and risk management around all areas of patient care. She has worked for three years in Dublin as Community Liaison between the HSE and Private Homecare MDT’s and as part of the team of a triple award winning Start-up of The Year Company, experienced the climate changes within the Medical industry striving for technological advancement all the time. As Director of Education and Coding for Pan Emirates, she currently implements her experience of the South African Health Care industry, Patient Service Management and Training in an effort to “untie the knots of the RCM process” in the most practical ways possible. As a Theatre Nurse she has learned the importance of the relationship of trust between Physicians and the other members of the MDT (of which Clinical Coders are a vital part), interdependence and trust that all relates to good & safe patient care.
