Biography

Matthew panagiotou is awarded PhD in General Surgery from Ethnikon kai Kapodistriakon Panepistimion Athi in the 1991.  He holds a Master Degree (MSc) in medicine from Ethnikon kai Kapodistriakon Panepistimion Athi in the 1984 .Currently he is working as an Head of cardiac surgery department for 1 year for METROPOLITAN HOSPITAL. Matthew Panagiotou is an experienced adult cardiac surgeon. His current practice involves the whole spectrum of adult cardiac surgery with the exemption of cardiac transplantation. He has been a pioneer in his country in several topics like arterial revascularization for coronary artery bypass grafting, cardiac stabilizing for off-pump CABG, minimally invasive heart valve surgery, stentless implants for aortic valve replacement and surgical ventricular restoration techniques. He is an active member of EACTS and a reviewer in the European Journal of Cardio-thoracic Surgery EJCTS and the Interactive Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery journals ICVTS.He is the deputy president of the professional committee of the Hellenic Society of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgeons HSTCS.
