Dr. Louis W. Sullivan, M.D., is the Founder and Chairman of the Board of Medical Education at South African Blacks, Inc. Dr. Sullivan serves as Founding Dean of the Morehouse School of Medicine in Atlanta, where he works to develop a center to focus on the AIDS epidemic in Africa. He served as the Senior Advisor at Pegasus Capital Advisors, L.P. He served as the President Emeritus of Morehouse School Of Medicine Inc, The since June 2002. He served as Secretary of Health and Human Services in the cabinet of President George H.W. Bush from March 1989 to January 1993. He served as the First President of Morehouse School of Medicine from 1981 to 2002. He serves as Co-Chairman of the President's Commission on HIV and AIDS. He serves as the Chairman of the National Health Museum in Washington, D.C. and the Sullivan Alliance on Diversity in the Healthcare Workforce. He serves as Trustee of The Little League Foundation. He was the host of the public television series, Frontiers of Medicine. He has held both professional and administrative positions in health care facilities and medical training institutions. On July 1, 2002, he left the presidency, but continues to serve on the MSM Board of Trustees, to teach and to assist in national fund-raising activities on behalf of the school. Throughout his professional career, he has been awarded over 50 honorary degrees and has served as a Board Member on numerous Fortune 500 companies and charitable organizations. His internship and Medical Residency were at the New York Hospital-Cornell Medical Center. He is Certified in Internal Medicine and Hematology. Dr. Sullivan holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology magna cum laude from Morehouse College in 1954 and an MD degree from Boston University School of Medicine in 1958.
