Biography

Lianne McLarty graduated from Brock University (St. Catharines, ON) with a B.A. in Film Studies in 1981.She wrote her M.A. thesis on the avant-garde films of R. Bruce Elder in the Canadian Studies Program at Carleton University (Ottawa, ON).In 1986, she began her doctoral work in the School of Communication at Simon Fraser University (Burnaby, BC).Before joining the Department of History in Art in 1992, Lianne McLarty taught in the Department of Film Studies at Queen's University, and in the Departments of Communication, Film Studies, and Women's Studies at Simon Fraser University.
