Dr. Lefteris comes from a family of doctors; both his parents and 3 uncles are doctors, so medicine is a kind of family tradition. He was born in Athens from a Cypriot father and a Greek mother. When he was three, the family moved to Cyprus. Following the successful completion of the Pancyprian Gymnasium high school in Nicosia, he was admitted in the famous Medical School of Vienna University. He finished his medical degree in 1972 and was given the title of Doctor of Medicine (Dr.med.). In 1973 he traveled to United Kingdom where he started working for specialization. After rotational courses in Medicine - Cardiology, General Surgery, Orthopedics, Accident and Emergency, Thoracic Surgery and taking exams, he was accredited in Gen. Surgery. Since 1980 he has concentrated on Plastic Surgery. He started working as a Senior Resident Surgeon with a highly respected plastic surgeon in U. K. Mr. Ian Muir, at the Aberdeen University Hospital and continued his training in Plastic Surgery at the Newcastle University Hospitals in England, until 1986. He subscribed in several teaching seminars and courses of Plastic Surgery over a period of 4 years. For a period he worked with Mr Frederick Nicolle, entirely on Cosmetic Surgery, in Harley Street, London. Soon after he was accredited in Plastic Surgery. In 1986 he returned to Nicosia, Cyprus. After his arrival in 1989 he was granted a scholarship by the Israeli Goverment at Hadassah Hospital, Jerusalem. He was the first full time Aesthetic Surgeon in Cyprus and is highly sought after for his skills, resulting in a successful career. He is serving as a: National Secretary for Cyprus in the International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ISAPS), National Delegate in the International Confederation for Plastic Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery (IPRAS), He is Overseas Member of the British Association of Plastic Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeons (BAPRAS), Member of European Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (ESPRAS), the Cyprus Society of Plastic Surgery, past President (CYSPRAS) the Greek Society of Plastic Surgery, the International College of Surgeons (FICS), the Cyprus Surgical Society, the Cyprus Medical Association, Individual Member of The International Federation of Sport Medicine (FIMS). Belonging to all these societies has the purpose of gaining prestige and assuring the patients of the qualifications, experience and the recognition of skills of Dr. Lefteris. He has a teaching experience with teaching undergraduates at the University Hospitals, while he was Senior Resident and Chief Resident. At least twice a year he takes part in National and International Conferences and Courses to upgrade his knowledge and be up to date with the technical developments of his craft. This also helps him to collect the necessary points of Continuous Medical Education (CME) for the annual Professional Licence. He has published several articles and reviews of his specialty, in medical and non medical journals. He also has been guest in radio and TV programs talking about Plastic and Aesthetic Surgery. He is a peer reviewer of the British Journal of Plastic Surgery (JPRAS) and an Inspector of Surgical Facilities (AAAASFI). Since in Cyprus, he has carried out over 5000 operations of Plastic Surgery. He performs all types of aesthetic surgery and the main load of his work is breast surgery (enlargement, reduction, and lift), nose surgery (rhinoplasty), tummy tucks and liposuction. He is married to Pamela from England and they have 4 daughters. He was a field, athlete and continues his interest in athletics being the official sport team doctor for the Cyprus Federations of Judo and Tae Kwon Do. He has a Private Pilot Licence and has taken part in many flying sport events. He speaks well Greek, English and German. He sees and operates on his patients in Larnaca, Nicosia and Ayia Napa.
