Biography

 Dr. Lee’s main clinical interest is chronic respiratory infection, especially tuberculosis and nontuberculous mycobacterial disease. His research group also focuses on tuberculosis, especially on the effect of nutrition on the development and severity of tuberculosis, and the pharmacokinetics of anti-tuberculosis drugs. These include researches on the relationship between nutritional parameters like body mass index, serum albumin level, cholesterol, and vitamin D, and the development of tuberculosis. Dr. Lee and his colleagues also participate in the rapid detection and diagnosis of tuberculosis. These include proteomics using the profiling of specific serum proteins, and molecular diagnostic methods like the nucleic-acid amplification technique.
