He graduated from Boston University in biomedical engineering in 1991. After working as a computer programmer for 5 years he returned to school and received his medical degree from LSU- New Orleans in 2000. Dr. Collins finished his Pediatric Residency at LSU-New Orleans in 2003 and joined a group practice in Metairie. In April 2005, he started Collins Pediatrics. Dr. Collins passed away in his home, surrounded by his family, after a short battle with Cholangiocarcinoma at the young age of 45 on August 29, 2015. He was married to Jennifer and had six children: Caroline, Andrew, Julianne, Analiese, Christian and Kyle.
