Dr. Sweeney received his undergraduate degree from Marietta College and his medical degree was obtained at the Marshall University School of Medicine. His internship and residency were completed at the Wake Forest University School of Medicine and his fellowship was completed at The University of Cincinnati School of Medicine. He has special interests in diseases of the pancreas and bile ducts as well as performing EUS and ERCP. Dr. Sweeney joined the group in 2005. He is board certified in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology by the American Board of Internal Medicine. Affiliations include the American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, the American College of Gastroenterology and the North Carolina Society of Gastroenterology.
