Dr. Simmons obtained his undergraduate degrees in Biology, Botany and Microbiology from East Texas University. He attended medical school at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center, School of Medicine. He continued at Texas Tech and was the Chief Resident in Neurology and received training in Neurology and Sleep Medicine. n 2002, Dr. Simmons relocated his Neurology practice to Alamogordo were he took ownership of the New Mexico Brain Institute, which provides all aspects of neurological care to the community. He is also an expert in Restless Leg Syndrome, which is both a neurological and sleep condition. Dr. Simmons is Board Certified in Neurology and is slated to obtain his board certification in Sleep Medicine later this year. Dr. Simmons is the Medical Director of the New Mexico Center for Clinical and Behavioral Sleep Medicine and is active in patient outreach regarding the impact of poor sleep on physical and mental health.
