Dr. Jason Machalicky completed both his Child/Adolescent and Adult psychiatry training at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He is experienced in treating the full range of mental health concerns in children and adults, including (but not limited to) depression, bipolar disorder, anxiety disorders, attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (AD/HD; ‘ADD’), disruptive behavior problems such as oppositional defiant disorder (ODD) and conduct disorder (CD), post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), schizophrenia, psychosis, and autism spectrum disorders to include Asperger’s. He has worked with children, adolescents and adults in a variety of settings, including outpatient clinics, inpatient facilities, residence facilities and the emergency department.
Dr. Machalicky uses a comprehensive approach to evaluation and treatment taking into account the biological, psychological and social factors affecting the individual and their family. Treatment options he offers include medication evaluation, medication management, individual psychotherapy, cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), family therapy, parent coaching and play psychotherapy.
