Helen is an internist and fellowship-trained geriatrician with 6 years of experience in academic medicine and more than 12 years of leadership experience in the biopharmaceutical industry. Dr. Edelberg trained in primary care internal medicine at the Beth Israel Hospital (Boston) and geriatric medicine/gerontology at Harvard Medical School, then completed the Harvard School of Public Health Clinical Effectiveness Program and received an MPH degree (Health Policy & Management) from the Mailman School of Public Health (Columbia University, 2002). She has held academic clinical research, teaching, and management positions on the faculty of Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Harvard Medical School and Mount Sinai School of Medicine (New York), and was the recipient of an American Federation for Aging Research (AFAR) Fellowship in Geriatric Clinical Pharmacology for her research on medication management and health literacy in community-dwelling older adults. In 2003, Helen took a position in Corporate Regulatory Affairs (RA) at sanofi-aventis (aka Aventis). She held several positions of increasing responsibility in RA, including those of Therapeutic Area Head (TAH) for Anti-infectives and Neuroscience, and helped to launch the newly formed Aging Therapeutic Strategy Unit. Subsequently, she led Global RA at Besins Healthcare, a position based in Bangkok, Thailand, served as Vice President of RA, Eurand, and the first Head of RA for ContraFect Corporation.
