Biography

Ellen has been practicing as a physical therapist for more than 27 years. She is a 1988 graduate of Simmons College and has been specializing in orthopedics for the past 25 years. In 2003, she completed a Masters in Public Health (MPH) from Portland State University and has a strong interest in health and wellness. Ellen has completed a variety of advanced training courses in manual therapy including the North American Institute of Manual Therapy(Level III), Mulligan (mobilization with movement) upper and lower quadrant, and Mckenzie Mechanical Diagnosis and Treatment.  In addition, she has completed fundamental and advanced Kinesiotaping  as well as training in the Graston technique for soft tissue mobilization.   Ellen has been board certified in orthopedics through the American Physical Therapy Association since 1996 and received renewed certification in 2006 and 2016. In April 2016 she became certified in the Mckenzie Method of Mechanical Diagnosis and Treatment. She is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association and the Oregon Physical Therapy Association. She has served as a board member for the non-profit Oregon Orthopedic Physical Therapy study group. She is currently serving as an active delegate for the Oregon Physical Therapy association. In her spare time Ellen enjoys running, soccer, table tennis, hiking, and spending time with her husband and two children.
