After graduating in business economics at the University of Tilburg in the Netherlands, she began her career in 1993 at Ernst & Young accountants in Eindhoven. In 1996 she obtained her register accountant title and became a member of the Royal Nivra. Mrs. Escalona has worked for Ernst & Young for eleven years, of which the last six of those years she was in charge of the Aruba office. Mrs. Escalona has also been a part-time lecturer at the University of Tilburg and the University of the Netherlands Antilles, teaching a course in International Financial Reporting. Furthermore she has given several lectures, amongst others at the Vera Conferences in Aruba and Curacao.
