Dr. Carlos Baptista has more than 20 years’ experience as medical doctor and pediatrician. He received his medical degree from the Lisbon Medical School in Portugal in 1993. He followed his pediatric training in the University Hospital Santa Maria (Lisbon), until 2002. In 2003 he was awarded with the Diploma in Allergy from the Southampton University (United Kingdom), preserving a close interest to allergic and respiratory diseases. As general pediatrician (attending children until 16 years) he worked in the University Hospital Santa Maria and in the Barreiro-Montijo Medical Center. Besides his permanent activities in the pediatric inpatient ward, ER and nursery, He held the coordination and responsibility of the Outpatient Clinic of Pediatric Allergic Diseases in the Barreiro-Montijo Medical Center, including diagnostic procedures such as food challenges, skin prick testing and spirometry. He also assumed the position of Head of Department for under and postgraduate medical education in Barreiro Montijo Medical Center.
