Dr.Prasad Medawatte has more than 17 years of experience in healthcare management and healthcare operations. Prior joining Lanka Hospitals in 2013, he has served healthcare planning in the government sector in Sri Lanka up to 2002, and from 2003 – 2009 he has the working experience in Seychelles, both government and private sector. Since 2009, he has held posts of head of institutions in the private healthcare sector in Sri Lanka. He has established leadership, proficiency and business insight thriving with passion as a young health care professional. Prior to his appointment as the CEO, he has held top management positions at Lanka Hospitals, including Deputy Director Medical services which he also covered the duties of CEO for the past 3 months. During this venture, he has uplifted the medical care operations with assuring quality Patients care and given strategic leadership to achieve overall institutional goals. Furthermore, he has introduced and penetrated the healthcare market in Seychelles and other international segments. Establishment of International Patient Care Center at Lanka Hospitals, leading as the head of steering Committee of the Joint Commission International Accreditation (JCIA) would be some of his other achievements. Presently, he is reading for his Master in Business Administration (MBA) at University of Sri Jayawardanapura and he holds a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS), Diploma in Fitness and Nutrition – USA, Divers Examiner & Diving Physician, Certification in Diving Medicine Part I & II – Germany.
