· Dr Hitendra K Doshi is an orthopaedic surgeon practising at Gleneagles Hospital, Singapore. He specialises in the treatment and management of patients with complex fractures and patients requiring joint replacement, with a particular interest in the ageing population. · Dr Doshi obtained his Master of Medicine (Orthopaedic Surgery) from the National University of Singapore in 2005 and completed his orthopaedic training in 2009. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and the European Board of Orthopaedics and Traumatology · Dr Doshi was awarded a fellowship in trauma and arthroplasty in Germany by the International Society of Orthopaedic Surgery and Traumatology (SICOT). He was also awarded by the AO Trauma Education to pursue his fellowship in complex trauma in Fribourg, Switzerland. · Dr Doshi completed a clinical fellowship in Innsbruck, Austria to pursue his clinical interest in adult trauma and joint replacement surgery as well as a fellowship in geriatric fracture management. · Dr Doshi has been invited as a faculty lecturer and chairperson in many international conferences including the United Kingdom, Czech Republic, United Arab Emirates, Germany, Switzerland, Malaysia, Thailand, India and Indonesia. He is also a faculty member for the AO Education and a National Representative for the International Society of Orthopedic Surgery and Traumatology (SICOT). · Prior to establishing his private practice, Dr Doshi was a consultant orthopaedic Surgeon at Tan Tock Seng Hospital and was instrumental in establishing and executing the first ever geriatric hip fracture care pathway in Singapore. He was also actively involved in teaching of medical students and residents in orthopaedic training as a senior clinical lecturer at the National University of Singapore and an assistant professor at the Lee Kong Chian Medical School at Nanyang Technology University. · Besides clinical and teaching activities, Dr Doshi has published extensively in scientific papers on orthopaedic trauma and geriatric fracture management. · Dr Doshi has participated as a member in Mercy Relief’s disaster team that rendered humanitarian relief to the victims of the earthquake in Central Java, Indonesia in 2006 and received a Health Award for his commendable performance in medical relief efforts. As a veteran in humanitarian projects, Dr Doshi continues to be involved in regular social service activities including public health talks.
