Prof. Dr. Elvira Bratila is a primary obstetrician - gynecologist, Head of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the UMF "Carol Davila" at the Clinical Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospital "Prof. Dr. Panait Sârbu ". Following the courses and exams she gained the skills in: gynecological and obstetrical ultrasonography, gynecological laparoscopy, colposcopy, infertility and human reproduction, hospital management, gynecological oncology and maternal fetal medicine. Occupational activity includes concerns in minimally invasive surgery (vaginal and laparoscopic surgery), gynecological uroginecology and oncology. In the field of minimally invasive surgery, he has extensive experience in practicing conservative operations for radical collagelectomy cancer with pelvic lymphadenectomy, making for the first time in Romania this intervention in a total laparoscopic way. The development of surgical skills has been permanently cultivated through the graduation of more than 42 national and international courses in minimally invasive surgery, gynecology uroginecology and oncology. Acquired knowledge and clinical experience have enabled Prof. Dr. Elvira Bratila to approach all benign gynecological pathology as well as malignant pathology - cervical cancer or endometrial cancer through minimally invasive (vaginal or laparoscopic) procedures. The experience of over 10 years in the field of urogencology is reflected in the use of the latest therapeutic methods in the treatment of urinary incontinence and utero-vaginal prolapse. Prof. Dr. Elvira Bratila is President of the Romanian Society of Uroginecology, being involved in the organization of eleven editions of the National Congress of Uroginecology. He is also a founding member of the East European Society of Endometriosis and Infertility, as well as a member of numerous international societies, The International Society of Ultrasonography in Obstetrics and Gynecology (ISUOG), The American Association of Gynecological Laparoscopy (AAGL) and The European Society of Gynecological Oncology ESGO). The over 147 published articles and 303 communications in the volume of national and international scientific events prove the accumulated professional experience, the synthesis capacity, the diversity of medical cases solved and their integration into the scientific concept, as well as the technical-surgical and scientific level achieved. At national and international congresses he was awarded prizes for original works, and his contribution to research projects as project director or member of the research team is reflected in the results of research into important pathologies in both obstetrics and gynecology. Prof. Dr. Elvira Bratila is the author and co-author of 13 books and chapters in books on obstetrics and gynecology. The involvement of Prof. Dr. Elvira Bratila in the training and education of young doctors is reflected by the over 10 years of activity as a university faculty at the "Carol Davila" University of Medicine and Pharmacy, and since 2016 following the assertion of the " Diagnostic and Treatment Algorithm in Pelvic Static Disorders "became coordinator of doctoral studies.
