Biography

Founding partner and ophthalmologist specialising in the retina at the Ocular Microsurgery Institute. Associate professor on the Master’s Course in Retina and Vitreous run by the IMO and theFaculty of Medicine at the Autonomous University of Barcelona and part-time teacher on the retina modules at the European School for Advanced Studies in Ophthalmology, ESASO. His main areas of interest are the pathology ofhigh myopia, retinal detachment, severe ocular trauma and diabetic retinopathy. His daily practice, medical as well as surgical, is also oriented towards AMD treatment, retinal vascular disease and diabetic macular pathology. Introduced macular translocation techniques in Spain, such as subretinal neovascularisation in age-related macular degeneration (AMD) and high myopia. Introduced macular indentation techniques in Spain for treating tractional macular disease in high myopia.
