Biography

 Dr. Brian Burke joined Fairview Hospital's medical staff in 1981 and has served as President of the Medical Staff since 1993. He has been a member of Fairview's Board of Trustees since 1993, and has been assistant director of the Emergency Department at Fairview since 1988. Dr. Burke received his Medical Degree from Albany Medical College in 1975, and served his internship at North Carolina Baptist Hospital in Winston-Salem. He completed his residency in family practice at North Carolina Baptist, an internal medicine residency at Berkshire Medical Center, and an anesthesia residency at Albany Medical Center. Dr. Burke is Board Certified in Internal Medicine. He has served as medical director of the Children's Health Program in Southern Berkshire, and since 2000, has been co-project director and medical director of the Community Health Center of the Berkshires, a federally-qualified health center certified by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.

Research Intrest

 A private, not-for-profit organization, BHS serves the region through a network of affiliates which include Berkshire Medical Center, the BMC Hillcrest Campus, Fairview Hospital, Berkshire Visiting Nurse Association, BHS physician practices, and long-term care associate Berkshire Healthcare Systems. Each of these facilities is distinguished by the high quality of their programs and services, and by the credentials, skill and compassion of their physicians, nurses and caregivers.
