Dr. Popova graduated Medicine from Medical University Sofia in 2000. In 2003 she successfully passed the United States Medical License Examination and acquired the right to practice medicine in the USA, where she worked as a volunteer in Resurrection Hospital, Chicago, Illinois. The same year she worked also as a national consultant to the United Nations under the program Improving of Sexual and Reproductive Health of Young People in Southern and Eastern Europe. She went through her residency in Specialized Hospital for Obstetrics and Gynecology ‘Maichin Dom’, Sofia and in 2007 she acquired Obstetrics and Gynecology specialty. In 2008 she graduate fellowship program in Microinvasive Surgery to WALS (World Association of Laparoscopic Surgeons) in Laparoscopic Hospital, Delhi, India. She has passed qualification classes in: Ultrasound and Doppler Diagnostics in Obstetrics and Gynecology; Colposcopy and Destructive Treatment in Precancerous Conditions of the Cervix; Laparocopy and Hysteroscopy (diagnostic and surgery) in the area of Gynecology, Surgery Gynecology and High Risk Pregnancy. She has passed through specialized classes in Resectoscopic Bipolar Hysteroscopic Surgery to ESGE, Florence, Italy, specialized classes in Colposcopy under the guidance of Prof. Albert Singer, and specialized classes in Endoscopic Gynecology – Myomectomy, Hysterectomy (MIC II) in Kiel, Germany. From 2007 to 2014 she worked in Tokuda Hospital Sofia as an Ob/Gyn doctor in the department of Gynecology and Pelvic Surgery. In 2014 she won a contest for an assistant in the OB/Gyn Department of Specialized Hospital for Obstetrics and Gynecology ‘Maichin Dom’, Sofia, where she worked as an Ob/Gyn doctor and trained Bulgarian and foreign students in Medicine and Dental Medicine. Since October 2015 she has been working again in Tokuda Hospital Sofia in the Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Advanced Pelvic Surgery. Dr. Borislava Popova is a member of the Bulgarian Doctors Union, Bulgarian Society for Obstetrics and Gynecology, WALS (World Association of Laparoscopic Surgeons) and ESGE (European Society for Gynecological Endoscopy).
