Dr. Akmal Taher was the Founder of PT Bernofarma He became a research fellow at Hannover Medical School and Institute for Peptide Research, Hannover, Germany from 1990 to 1992. Doctor Medikus and PhD degree he achieved from the institution in 1993, while his Doctorate degree obtained from FKUI Jakarta in the same year. Some of the award marks he achieved, among others; The best results on "Integrated Superior Research" from the Minister of Research and Technology (1997); All Star Award Galamedika (1996); Grosshardener Innovationpreis, Germany (1994); "Best Young Researcher" in the Health Sector LIPI Indonesia (1993).
