Doctor Barbash was one of the top graduates of the Faculty of Dentistry (DMD) at the University of Iasi, Romania in 1992. From 1992-1993 she was a Clinical Instructor in the Department of Prosthodontics at that same university. In 1993 she was licensed for dentistry and practised as a general dentist from 1994-2000. Doctor Barbash began specialising in endodontic work (root canals) in 2000, and since 2001 has exclusively worked as an Endodontist, completing additional educational programs in anaesthesis using nitrous oxide, and in advanced endodontics.
