Dr. Stepanyan has 14 years' experience in environmental studies and 6 years as a researcher at the National Academy of Sciences of Armenia. He was head of the central analytic laboratory of the Center for Ecological and Noosphere Studies of Armenia, participating in environmental projects funded by CRDF and NATO. He has worked as a water quality expert for UNDP-SIDA funded project, and also as Senior Specialist-State Inspector on Radioactive Waste Management at the Armenian Nuclear Regulatory Authority. Dr. Stepanyan has published scientific articles and 3 patents.
