Weste has a background in the humanities, with an emphasis on theoretical philosophy, and he also possesses theoretical and pratical skills in science. Weste has been involved in Toxicon’s marine field sampling and subsequent laboratory work since more than fifteen years. He is co-responsible for navigation in the marine sampling and diving projects annually conducted by Toxicon. His laboratory responsibilities include species identification of benthic fauna (infauna and epifauna) and zooplanton. He participates in the departments fish physiological studies where he contributes with, among other tasks, sex determination of zebrafish fry. He also functions as a back up resource at the ecotoxicological unit since he is experienced in toxicity testing.
Toxicology
