Biography

Mr. Peter C. Wendell is a Founder and Managing Director at Sierra Ventures. Mr. Wendell serves as Senior Advisor at Innovation Endeavors. He previously served as a General Partner at the firm. Mr. Wendell founded Sierra Ventures in 1982. Since 1991, Mr. Wendell has held a faculty appointment at Stanford University's Graduate School of Business where he teaches "Entrepreneurship and Venture Capital". Prior to founding Sierra Ventures, Mr. Wendell spent 10 years at IBM where he was employed in a variety of marketing and sales positions. He serves as a Special Advisor at Gobi Partners and WestBridge Capital Partners LLC. Mr. Wendell also serves as the Chairman of The Board of the Princeton University Investment Co. (PRINCO). He serves as the Non Executive Chairman at Astra Business Services, Inc. He is serving a 10-year appointment as a Charter Trustee of Princeton University. Mr. Wendell has been an Independent Director of Merck & Co., Inc. since September 23, 2003. He serves on the Board of Directors of the school's associate's board. Mr. Wendell served as a Director of WestBridge Crossover Fund, LLC and WestBridge Capital Partners LLC. He served as a Director of NovaMed Inc. He served as a Director of Barnes & Noble.com Professional, Technical and Business Bookstore since September 1996. Mr. Wendell served as a Director of DBS Communications, Inc. since December 2004. He has received multiple awards from both Princeton and Harvard for his leadership and service. In July 2001, Mr. Wendell was honored by Forbes magazine as one of the 100 best technology venture investors in the United States and in January 2002, was one of 15 venture capitalists named on Upside magazine's Elite 100 list of influential U.S. leaders in technology, finance and business.
