Ms. Virginia Valentine, CNS, BC-ADM, CDE is a Co-Owner of Diabetes Network, Inc., and serves as its Chief Executive Officer. Ms. Valentine serves as a Deputy Editor of Clinical Diabetes at American Diabetes Association, Inc. She was President of the New Mexico Leadership Council of the American Diabetes Association. She serves as a Member of Scientific Advisors of Intuity Medical, Inc. Ms. Valentine serves as a Member of Board of Advisors at CeQur SA. Ms. Valentine serves as a Member of the Advanced Practice Advisory Board to the New Mexico Board of Nursing. She served as a Member of Clinical Advisory Board at Tandem Diabetes Care, Inc. Ms. Valentine served as a Member of Advisory Board at Asante Solutions, Inc. She holds faculty appointments with the University of New Mexico College of Nursing, School of Medicine and College of Pharmacy. Ms. Valentine is the recipient of the Roche/Zitter Diabetes Disease Management Award, the Outstanding Diabetes Educator of the Year Award and is also the 2006 recipient of the Distinguished Service Award from the American Association of Diabetes Educators. She has published widely on the topic of diabetes for both professionals and patients, including "Diabetes: the New Type 2" (2008, New York: Tarcher/Penguin). Ms. Valentine holds a BSN from Central State University, Edmond, Oklahma and received her Master of Science in Nursing degree from the University of Oklahoma College of Nursing in 1981.
