Tim Tyson is Chairman of Icagen. He has had 35 years of experience in the biopharmaceutical industry and with Bristol-Myers, Glaxo, Glaxo Wellcome, GSK, Valeant and Aptuit. He was on the Executive Committee at GSK where he was the President of Technical Operations. He was President and CEO at Valeant Pharmaceuticals and was most recently Chairman and CEO at Aptuit. He has significant experience in sales, marketing, R&D, manufacturing and engineering. He has launched more than 50 products into the marketplace. He has served on the PhRMA Board of Directors, founded the International Leadership Forum of the ISPE, served on the Board of Valeant Pharmaceuticals and serves on many academic and non-profit boards. He is currently also Chairman at Aptuit, on the Board at Marken, and serves on the Board at Creeris, the Thayer Hotel, The Thayer Leader Development Group and Marcas USA. He is a 1974 graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point and earned an MBA and an MPA from Jacksonville State University. Mr. Tyson served in the US Army achieving the rank of Major. He received the Bicentennial Leadership Award from the United States Military Academy in 2002 and was named the 2007 Alumnus of the Year at Jacksonville State University. He was inducted into the Six Sigma Hall of Fame in 2011 and was honored in 2012 at West Point by the Thayer Hotel Room Dedication Program. He was a President's Club awardee for four years at GSK and his GSK marketing organization was recognized as Marketer of the Year for two consecutive years by MedAdNews.
