Mr. Thomas M. Herzog, also known as Tom, has been the Chief Executive Officer and Director of HCP, Inc. since January 1, 2016 and has been its President since June 5, 2017. Mr. Herzog served as the Chief Financial Officer at HCP, Inc. from June 27, 2016 to December 2016. Previously, he served as the Chief Financial Officer and Senior Vice President at UDR, Inc. since January 1, 2013 until June 3, 2016 and served as its Senior Vice President until June 3, 2016. Mr. Herzog served as the Chief Financial Officer and Executive Vice President at MAERIL Inc. He served as a Managing General Partner at VMS National Properties Joint Venture since November 2005. Mr. Herzog served as Chief Financial Officer and Executive Vice President at Angeles Realty Corporation II. He served as the Chief Financial Officer at Amstar and was responsible for firm's accounting, finance, risk management, tax and information technology functions. Before joining Amstar in 2011, Mr. Herzog served as a Chief Financial Officer and Executive Vice President at HCP, Inc. from April 23, 2009 to May 15, 2011 and also served as its Treasurer. Prior to HCP, he served as the Chief Financial Officer of Apartment Investment and Management Co. from November 2005 to 2009 and Executive Vice President since July 2005. Mr. Herzog served as Senior Vice President and Chief Accounting Officer at AIMCO from January 2004 to July 2005. He served as Chief Accounting Officer and Global Controller at GE Capital Real Estate from April 2002 to January 2004 and as Finance Technical Advisor/Chief Technical Advisor from March 2000 to April 2002, on real estate transactions. Mr. Herzog served as an Executive with GE Real Estate for four years and prior to this, served in multiple capacities at the accounting firm Deloitte & Touche for ten years. He started his career with Deloitte & Touche LLP and worked primarily in the real estate group from 1990 to 2000. Mr. Herzog has been an Independent Director of TIER REIT, Inc. since April 15, 2015. He serves as a Director of Aimco-GP Inc. Mr. Herzog holds an M.S. in Business Administration from the Iowa State University and a B.S. in Business Administration from North Dakota State University.
