Biography

Dr. Emory is a pathologist with Peninsula Pathology Associates in eastern Virginia and serves as the medical director of three laboratories within the Riverside Health System. Following several years at the Armed Forces Institute of Pathology, she spent 13 years as a pathologist in the Appalachian Mountains of southwestern Virginia and east Tennessee. During her time in that region, she was active in the United Way of Russell and Washington Counties and served as capital campaign chair in 2011. This campaign exceeded its fundraising goal of $1.1 million, raising more than $2 million dollars. Dr. Emory has been involved with several other non-profit organizations including: William King Regional Arts, Abuse Alternatives, Southwest Virginia Second Harvest Food Bank, Healing Hands, and Crossroads Medical Missions. She brings an understanding of the needs of rural underserved populations and strategies to reach financial goals. Dr. Emory received her MD at the Eastern Virginia Medical School, where she now serves on the Board of Visitors. She completed her anatomic and clinical pathology residency at the Mayo Clinic, where she serves on the alumni association board of directors. She currently serves on the Payment Policy Subcommittee of the Economic and Regulatory Affairs Committee of the CAP and previously served on Federal and State Affairs Committee of the CAP.
