Tamra Aloi is a Senior Director with the Alvarez & Marsal Healthcare Industry Group in Chicago. She specializes in operations and financial performance improvement, with strengths in Medicare and third party reimbursement, revenue cycle operations and regulatory compliance.Ms. Aloi has worked with healthcare providers of all types and sizes across the country, including large academic medical centers, community hospitals, specialty hospitals and freestanding ambulatory centers. She has spent extensive time working with large academic medical centers on performance improvement initiatives and most recently managed a compliance regulatory project including an assessment, implementation and monitoring of a system-wide corrective action plan to ensure compliance with Medicare Conditions of Participation. This project spanned all clinical and support areas of the Hospital and focused on patient safety, access, throughput, quality and satisfaction. Ms. Aloi's focus on reimbursement includes Medicare, Medicaid and all third-party payers. Notable assignments include long-term interim management positions as Vice President of Reimbursement for a large hospital system in the Northeast, and Controller for a large county hospital on the West Coast. She has worked with facilities to ensure optimal appropriate reimbursement including product line, managed care contract and medical education analyses, and is experienced in net revenue reporting, revenue budgeting and governmental compliance reporting (i.e. Medicare cost reporting). Ms. Aloi has also conducted several revenue cycle engagements for various healthcare providers including large teaching hospitals, psychiatric specialty hospitals, cancer hospitals, long-term care and assisted living facilities, and critical access hospitals. Her focus is the assessment of revenue cycle processes, development and implementation of operational improvements to improve cash flow through accounts receivable management, front and back-end process improvement, performance measurement and management. Before A&M, Ms. Aloi was Reimbursement Manager with the University of Chicago Hospitals. She spent the last 14 years of her career as a Principal of her own consulting firm specializing in Medicare reimbursement.Ms. Aloi earned a bachelor's degree in business, with a concentration in accounting, from the University of Texas in Dallas. She is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and of the Healthcare Financial Management Association.
